Strange Times Indeed

Tonight, Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 8:30 PM MST, the Edmonton Oilers take on the Calgary Flames in an exhibition game before the Qualifying Round of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs begins on Saturday, August 1, 2020.

It seems truly weird to be talking about watching hockey in July. But then, what about 2020 hasn’t seemed weird?

I’m not sure how it’s going to be, watching hockey being played in an arena with no fans but, I’ll just be grateful that we’ve got hockey at all, given the world’s current circumstances.

Anyone who follows my personal Facebook page knows how torn up I was to hear about Colby Cave’s death earlier this year. I really enjoyed watching him play and I’m going to miss seeing him on the ice for the playoffs this year. Such a shame.

I’ll post my thoughts on empty-arena hockey on here this Friday. In the meantime, I want to wish the Oilers good luck against Chicago in the Qualifying Round! Take it to ’em, boys!
